23 Months!

Well, these pics are as good as it gets for the moment.  Here is Cole on Sunday playing.  He now says "choo-choo", "boo", "vroom", "dog", "dad", "again", "uh-oh", and other things.
Cole is getting better at coloring and he recognizes several letters and colors, even if he is not verbalizing them.  He only has 2 two-year molars left to come in after the one he's working on (thus the grumpiness).  He was zoned out on the swing in this picture.
Cole loves cars, trains, water, dogs, birds, planes, sports, painting, and playing non-stop.  He is also a pretty good sleeper and we are thankful for that!  I cannot believe he will be 2 in less than a month.  It is crazy!  We go to Ohio on Saturday and it will be fun to see if he gets any new words!

22 Months!

Cole turned 22 months this past weekend on the 29th.  We didn't get pictures that day, but I took him to Woodward park in Tulsa to take some shots.  There he met a young girl named Kadence.  3 year old girls really know how to take control of a situation.
He is looking at Kadence's Great-Grandmother in this picture.  It is hard to get good pics of him at this extremely mobile and not extremely good at listening stage, but I think I got a few good ones.  Considering I didn't take very many that is saying something.
"Who, me?"
Trying to climb up after the squirrels.
"What's the deal, Mom?"  (is it just me or is his main expression one of agitation:)
"I see you, squirrel!"
"I'm gonna jump up after you!" (he can't really jump yet)
Cole's main things he does right now is playing with vehicles at least 6 hours of every day and he says "uh-oh" and "choo choo".  He loves girls.  He will point at them and shriek and pay zero attention to males in the area unless they are directing their attention at him.  It is funny and embarrassing how he continually shrieks at the same girl over and over in a store.  He has almost all of his teeth.  I think he has 2 more of his two year molars to cut and then he is done for a little while!

20 Months!

Cole watching an airplane in his Easter outfit.
Funny boy.  He turned 20 months today.  It is so hard to believe.  I know it is a cliche, but it is so true.  He's growing up so fast.
By far my favorite picture of Cole.  Such a handsome boy.
Such a giving boy, too.
We love you, small fry!  More than words!
Cole loves to dance and I think he even sings sometimes.  He loves music, birds, dogs, trucks, reading, balls, and being outside.  He has one more tooth to cut before those 2 year molars come in.  He is such a joy.  He is such a wonderful gift.

Happy 18 Months and a Snowstorm!

Wow!  A year and a half since we were blessed by your birth, Cole!  You are just the best thing we have ever been given!
You are helpful, nurturing, snuggly, and forever kissing (especially the girls).  You are smart and of course, adorable!
You love the outdoors and never want to be inside.  You also love dogs, but you aren't sure what to do when one gets close to you.
You sleep with stuffed animals and blankies and you aren't afraid to cry (that is supposed to be a joke...he is a toddler!).
We are learning more about you everyday and toddlerhood has its ups and downs, but...
Baby, you are awesome all around!
Cole turned 18 months today.  He walks, he talks, he is a toddler.  We had a pretty awesome storm today.  Jonathan went into work for maybe a half hour before leaving because the roads were pretty bad.  More pictures coming tomorrow.  I am sure Cole will want to get back out in the snow!

17 Months!

Cole turned 17 months old today!

He's very happy we are finally settled.

Sitting in the snow.  His eyes are like Emeralds in many of these pictures...

Green eyes that melt my heart.

Handsome!

Moody:).
Cole is 17 months old and the word "toddler" describes him quite well aside from the "toddling" thing.  He still is not walking but we are quite confident that he is capable of it but for whatever reason refuses.  He can stand for a long time and if he'd just take a step we know he'd do it.
He says "words."  Dog ("Dah") and Juice ("Ju") are the two we hear most.  Also he seems to say the phrase I want that ("I wan da").  He will repeat sounds like Pop-pop or Da-da.  No Ma-ma for the most part unless he is very hungry or upset.
Cole likes to read a lot and he loves lining his trucks up in confined areas like rugs or a windowsill (so they are all together on the sill or the rug).  Cole got a shape sorter for Christmas and is very confident with the circles, but not much else.  He is good at putting his toys away when we help him.  He still scoots and crawls about 40/50 and probably cruises about 10% of the time.  He has a bunch of teeth...11 with one working it's way in.  He is appearing to resist his morning nap, so we may try one nap a day (or two later than he used to), but he is definitely tired by 10am so it is a struggle.  His biggest form of defiance is throwing food from his high chair.  Other than that he is a happy baby who listens pretty well.

16 Months!

Big cheesy smile for Daddy.

Smiley.

I am glad we kept his sweater out for the move because the few Christmas things he had are still in the moving truck and we couldn't get to them if we tried.  Oh well, after the 18th we will be able to get to them again and we will have a week to wear them before Christmas.

Not a big smile, but I like this photo.

Cole is 16 months old today!  It is very hard to believe that he is nearing the year and a half mark already!  He makes a lot of noises, but still no real words.  We have started asking him to say "juice" when he wants his juice and it works a little.  He says "Ju", but it is a start.  He says Da when he sees dogs and instead of "Ruff ruff" he says "Tah Tah".  He recently learned how to stick out his tongue.  He got his 2nd molar Nov 11th and his 3rd Nov 21st.  He is working on his 4th and one of his lowers in front.  We still haven't made a bunch of progress with walking, but we know he could do it if he had a little more confidence in his balance.  He has taken a step if we let go of his hands here or there, but mainly just collapses and cries.  He has learned to scribble with crayons so that will be a fun thing to do when we finally get settled.

Interruption of Circleville Posts: Cole is 15 Months today!

I was doing a studious theme for an entry in a photo/essay contest.  I hope I win!  I will find out by the end of November and I will share the essay/pic on the blog once I find out one way or another.  I think it was very good, but I am biased.

Eating mulch.  Yum.

I couldn't get smiles, really, but if I made it sound like I was worried about something by breathing in sharply at least I broke his attention from munching on mulch.

Cute, cute, cute, cute, cute:).

We love you, little fuzzy chicken.  15 month appointment is on the 6th and we will update on how Cole measures up then!

13 Months!

I cannot believe our son is 13 months old! He turned it yesterday and these pictures were taken yesterday, but we didn't get home until tonight so I posted them as soon as I had time.
I love these pictures. The background is a lawn chair at Jonathan's parents' house.
At 13 months Cole talks a lot. His words are still not real, intelligible words, but he makes sounds and many grunts and gestures at things. He knows many words because if we say them he will either look for something or someone.
He gets onto his knees and sometimes doesn't even use something for balance. He is still not pulling himself up, but we are totally fine with that! We will be chasing him soon enough! He eats near anything, but it has to be when he wants it. He's very kissy oftentimes and is snuggly at certain times and it is so adorable. He kisses his stuffed animals and waits for us to say "awww". He also looks at us when he is about to do something he knows he is not supposed to...sneaky boy.
We got good smiles this shoot because his grandparents were all around keeping him smiley.

11 Months!

Cole Magnum, P.I.
At Your Service.
Where is Higgins?
Just keep those doberman's away!
Um, my shorts need to be shorter...
Just got back from a chopper ride with T.C., so my eyes are a little red (or I could be tired).
Cole is 11 months! The day passed yesterday without me realizing it until he was in bed. It was a very busy day trying to unpack from the trip and doing many other things that absolutely had to be done yesterday. So, I took pictures today and Cole He was not his cheery self being tired (ironically sleeping in until 9 and still tired). I may try for some more photos when he wakes.
Cole at 11 months can sit, scoot on his bottom, semi-crawl (but this is very rare now that he can sit when he wants and he mainly just scoots). He can feed himself an entire meal off a plate and I think we have come to an understanding that dropping his food must mean he is finished eating because he doesn't attempt it until he is good and full now. He can eat blueberries (halved), beans, mac and cheese, canned veggies (still can't seem to make fresh and frozen soft enough), anything we eat that is ground up, etc. He likes feeding himself, but still is fine with us doing it which is good when we want less messy results:). He is very interested in furniture with knobs and it is probably not too long that he will try to pull up on it. He is starting to like books more and seems to like smaller toys over larger ones. He is just such a joy! He is learning every day and it is so fun that he can understand us and respond. Toddlerhood, with its many frustrations, will be great for us to begin knowing our little boy's personality more. So fun!
