Easter 2012

Cole just looked out the window and said "Happy Easter, God."  It was so sweet and sincere and how much more appropriate could you get?  He likes Peeps now, he loves egg hunts, and he was so sweet when he saw his basket this morning.  He gets this look on his face when he gets overwhelmed (seeing Daddy after a trip, seeing grandparents each visit, people talking to him in a sweet way) and looks like he may cry and puts his hand to his mouth like in the top left image.  It is the sweetest look!
Happy Easter!
PS..today he also rode his bicycle (real bike, not tricycle) around the block and was very proud of himself.  Next time he does it I am going to make sure we get a video!

Church Easter Egg Hunt

Cole had so much fun at the church Easter Egg hunt!  He ate (and loved) his first jelly beans.  We came home and practiced hunting for eggs some more indoors.  Another home hunt tomorrow! :)

Easter Eggs and Cole's Eyes

We colored Easter Eggs today.  Cole must have a great memory because he just knew that underneath the shell would be "spots" from the dye getting into the egg.  He was right.  He ate 4 eggs (3 in one sitting) this afternoon and he enjoyed every minute of the egg coloring.

After a few weeks off of doing this Cole rediscover "the eye thing" where he raises his brows and makes his eyes huge.  His thick brows are so striking it makes this a hilarious face.  He has tried to use it to get out of trouble a time of two with ill success.

Cole is really starting into the "why?" phase of preschooler development.  It is annoying, for certain, and sometimes the answer is along the lines of "because I said so" instead of explanations, but he is learning and growing and we wouldn't have it any other way.  Cole continues to become a sweet, intelligent boy with a thirst for learning.  He also, though cautious, enjoys triumphing over his fears.  An example is touching a sting ray.  He was scared to do it, but he wanted to. The first time he tried he couldn't bring himself to do it, but the next time we went back to the aquarium he stayed until he had overcome his fear.
It is very interesting how it ties in with the meaning of his name.  Cole is a nickname for Nicholas.  The meaning of his name is "victory of the people".  It is just interesting that he should also be a victorious person, conquering fears.  He has been doing this time and time again and it is really neat.  Right now he's working on victory over a forward roll:).

Ohio Day 2: Circleville

Cole got to participate in Grandma's Sunday School class when we visited.
They thought taking the paper off their crayons was hilarious.
Captain Studious.  Nevermind that the paper was upside down.
 4 generations of Tylers.
 The 4 Forte men.
Matthew and Krista, Pop Pop and Grandma, Granny, and us.

Jonathan's Aunt and Uncle brought Cole 5 Cheryl & Co. cookies and he passed 4 of them out to us around the table (he is a great sharer) and kept the strawberry icing one for himself.
The Easter Egg Hunt!  Cole's 1st real one.

It was an absolutely beautiful day.  Actually the only nice weather the whole trip.

 Look at him cut!!!
 Stealing the ball from Daddy.
 Sign him up for soccer!

 Chocolat!
I love this shot.  Uncle Matthew hit the ball, it went over Cole's head and Jonathan is catching it, but Cole is trying to follow it:).
Look at that belly!  This was Jonathan's shirt from when he was a tot.
 Refreshment break.
Daddy loves you, baby, don't ever forget:).
Look at the fun they were having!  I just love these for the emotion!

Cole was completely wiped out...
