Jellyfish!

Numbers 1-5 of the top ten things I have done once and likely to never do again...making plush toys. His smile and happiness over this thing is almost worth it. After all the pin pricks I think I will go on a carb free diet forever because I have never had more compassion for diabetics!
He has been begging me since last Thursday to make him a jellyfish.  I found one online.  It was very difficult to make.  Honestly, if he asked me to make him one again, I would, but making plush toys is not one of my favorite things to do! :)

Past few days

Yesterday I convinced Cole to let me take some Easter pictures. Afterward we sat on the back porch swing and relaxed in the beautiful weather. Today we went tricycling through the neighborhood. And through the falling blossoms. Cole thought they were snow. Tonight he helped Daddy work on tearing out our spare bathroom shower. He used his toy hammer. It was funny because he was working on a spot that the tile was partially chipped and he actually managed to chip off some more with the toy hammer. He said "I didn't know this hammer was actually special."

Happy Easter!

Cole's Prayer

Cole wanted to say bedtime prayer tonight and it went something like this:
"Dear God thank you for the day and thank you for all you have given us. Thank you for daddy and thank you for mommy. Thank you for Jesus. Thank you for all the mans you have made. Thank you for my trains and fishies...in Jesus' name, amen." Usually daddy leads bedtime prayer. A lot of what Cole included was not something he had heard and was repeating necessarily. That is what made it all the more sweet! Sweet boy!

Bedtime and Drawing

We look at cole most nights before we go to bed. Jonathan goes in there every night and for a while I was terrified we'd wake him up if we both went in, but now I oftentimes join him. It is so peaceful to watch a sleeping child. Temper tantrums float by the wayside of your mind and you see them as the peaceful little awesome creation they are. He still sleeps with his lovie up by his face most nights and with his arms up. Since I got a phone with a camera that can take silent pictures (no clicking shutter noise) I have photographed him sleep occasionally. I don't want to forget the preciousness of it.
On another note he has recently gotten more into drawing. I am loving his creativity. This picture is entitled "Guy on a surfboard." My brother requested it since he surfs. Right now he really only draws sea creature and people:).

Learning to Cook

He was so cute.  He just wanted to cook and put on our aprons.  We just made macaroni and cheese...something easy.  We will call it college prep cooking.

Classic toys

Sticks are the original classic toys. It was so lovely out we spent several hours letting the Oklahoma wind blow through our hair. 80 degrees in march. Beautiful!

The Crazy Vacation Picture Post is HERE!

Cole chose a catfish as his souvenir from Florida.  He loves it!
 Searching for shells on Sanibel.

Such joy he has on the beach.

 Everglades National Park.

 Sanibel Causeway Island at dusk.

 Causeway

Another glorious day of perfect weather on Sanibel.

We made a big hole with a big pile behind it and dug a trench so when the waves lapped up they ran down the trench into the hole.

Cole attempted to knock down the pile at the end of the day.

Bald Eagle next to Grandpa and Grandma's condo.
Grandpa and Grandma had arrived and Cole was so excited!

Playing "Cheques" with Grandma.  I think he was trying to play checkers with the shells.

Cheques in action.  It didn't have much of a purpose, but it was a clever little "game" he made up:).
With Grandma at Harold's in Naples for dinner.
