Zoo

We went to the zoo with friends last Tuesday.  Cole just loves Owen and Kate!  So glad they asked us!

They all rode the turtle...not a real one.

But this monkey was riding a real one.  We were told they are zoo buddies and the monkey even kisses the turtle.

I cut my hair off.  Well, I didn't, my stylist did.  I like it!  This is just so it doesn't surprise you if you see me in a few weeks in Ohio and my hair is 4 inches shorter:).

Sunday School Class Social

 Cole mostly wanted to play with Avery's train set, but he was playing outside and having fun here at the beginning.

 Then once he got the train stuff out of his system he joined Avery (yellow) in hiding from Christian.

Cole Reads?

Let me tell you the story.  Every time we go to a stop sign Cole says "S-T-O-P, STOP"!  Last week he was walking around with my one lip glass that says POP on it and we did a similar thing.  We have known he can recognize his name.  Well, today he was doodling on these really cool things he got for his birthday and I decided to experiment.  I wanted to know if he recognized the words when they weren't on a sign or a tube of lipgloss, or on the wall in his room.  So, I did this.  He knew what I was writing.  I video taped it the second time we went through it.  It was not rehearsed.  I was amazed!  I had him do it over the phone for Daddy who was also amazed!  Now, we don't think he can necessarily read yet, but these are definitely excellent building blocks for reading.

Finally Cooler!

 

It was finally cool enough to be outside starting on Saturday night so that is where we were.  Cole played with a bunch of things, but he liked these discs for disc golf a LOT!  Maybe because the one has a shark!

Sunset!  It was past Cole's bedtime, but we have been cooped up inside all summer and soaked up the nice weather all we could!  It is still nice today, thank goodness, so we hope to have a while longer of this before it gets too cool.
