You would think I would have nothing better to do than to simpsonize us. It isn't really true. I just had to get a family portrait. Amazingly, even with a different picture of me the algorithm that pics your "simpsonized" self drew me the same both times. I have to admit, I had to change Jonathan's up a bit. The way he turned out was just not even looking like him at all. My friend Shomari had the same problem when he simpsonized himself. He looks kind of like Chris Tucker, but his Simpsonized self was not even close.Anyway, some of you rabid fans of our blog may wonder what I did on my actual birthday. Well, I stopped at the whole food store on the way home from work to get milk (if I had to go into Walmart on my birthday I would have cried...I do not like that store and it is only out of necessity that I go there) and an organic iced tea (like a Snapple...it was a little present for me). I also stopped and got a silicone cover for the iPod Jonathan got me. It totally protects it (even the wheel) and I really like it...I got a cable to plug it right into the car stereo...yeah! Since the CD player in the car hasn't worked in about 5 years that is so great to pick music for once instead of being at the mercy of DJs, though I do love Air One. So, once I got home, Kellie came over and we jammed on our guitars. It was a great experience. Jonathan was in class but Josh came over and was our second audience (Jonathan had heard us the day before). After she left I talked on the phone with people until Jonathan got home. Thank you to everyone who called and I talked to...without you I may have been lonely.
Tuesday night, though, I went out to dinner with Amanda Kraus to Ted's Escondido...the best Tex-Mex in Oklahoma I would boldly state. It was great! After that we went back to Amanda's (I saw Gradey/Belle, by the way...getting big) and watched Babel. I highly do NOT recommend such a terrible movie. First off, it was pretty graphic and really just made my stomach churn. Second, it was so depressing! I can't think of much that is more depressing...nothing went right...I have no idea how such an awful movie can win awards. Amanda explained to me what it was truly about and I guess it was "brilliant" or whatever, but I still don't recommend it. Amanda was disturbed, too.
I started going to this great Bible Study at Josh and Kellie Richards on Thursdays. Miles Mcpherson is the preacher. It is his church in San Diego where the sermons are recorded. We watch the digital recordings, take notes, and discuss. Miles is a very gifted speaker and pastor. I benefit and enjoy the meetings. Amanda Kraus came with me this week and I think she wants Tim, her husband, to come when he can.
Well, Friday I was cleaning the house and I was vacuuming. Our vacuum is super old and junky. It keeps shutting itself off by the power cord hitting the little foot switch to turn it on/off. I knelt down to look at the power cord for some reason and realized that there is no insulation on the cord! It is cracked! The inside wires are fine and the insulation on them is fine, but definitely it seems dangerous. I mentioned it to Jonathan and he was very concerned. So, we got a new vacuum. I wanted a Dyson (who doesn't) but they are way too expensive. Kellie and Josh have a Hoover Fusion which they love and I heard great reviews on. We ended up driving all around looking for this vacuum. Well, it was replaced by the Mach 5, so we ended up figuring that out last night after running all over and getting it this afternoon after church. It is great! It is so crazy to think of how much gunk the other vacuum didn't pick up.
Today was exciting because I got to talk to Jake and Amanda Haskew LIVE! We Skyped and it was great to see them in their new abode in Vienna. We really miss them being so close in vicinity to us. Hopefully we will at least me in the same country someday:). Well, I am going to close because I am exhausted at 9:17 pm like some little old lady.
