Happy 1st Birthday, Cole! We Love You!

Ok, today's photo shoot! Our neighbors helped to make him more smiley, but those molars are pushing through so this is just as good as it gets right now...

Read our message to Cole on the post below! We love you more than words can describe, little man!

Happy Birthday, Cole!

Happy Birthday, Cole! A year ago, today, we were formally introduced. God gave you to us as His most special gift.
He gave you to us to love, cherish, and guide for just a short time of your life. You have already grown so fast that it is amazing!
Words cannot describe how much we love you! Your personality shows more everyday! You are loving, fun, and happy!
We hope you always have a great sense of humor like you do now! You are so adorable and we can't get enough! If we leave you with a babysitter, even in a church nursery, we cannot wait to see you again! You complete us.
Your laughter is contagious and is our favorite noise! You are so special! You were uniquely made. Who else scoots and plays with toys with their feet?
We will always be here for you, no matter what.
We thank God for you everyday. We thank Him for your health and ask Him to guide us in raising you to be His.
"Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him". Psalm 127:3

Spaghetti, Bath tubs, and raccoons...how do you like that title?

Cole liked spaghetti a lot! He would gobble it down as soon as we put it in front of him!
It may not be as cute a shot in the drain plug, but the other one I couldn't frame or anything because I took it from too far away and chopped it all up ruining resolution. This one is cute.
Coon skin cap...from when I (Candice) was a kid. I think we got them at Disney, but I can't remember. Cole liked it, but it was pretty hot!

Random Pictures Thursday:)

Cole likes to look in the reflection of the water overflow in the bathtub. It is so cute. He gets all excited if he sees us looking at him in it.
He got horrible burns on his ankle of his left leg from the Cole patented "scoot" so now he has to wear socks all the time. So, we got him shoes so when we go place he isn't just wearing socks.
Last night. We were playing "I'm gonna get you" and he was scooting away. It was fun. We got this hat from our neighbors in NC and it fits him now. It is WAY too hot, though, but his noggin may not fit in it by winter! He learned to shake his head "no" this morning. It is funny. I shook mine, he shook his back (I wasn't correcting him at the time, either). He also signed "more" to me yesterday afternoon, but it was only one time. Hopefully we can keep doing some sign language.

In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, "I choose not to crawl (run)" he can crawl on beds, but for some reason not the floor.

In the words of Pete Townsend - Who Are You?

I just have to say how interesting and encouraging it is to have a live traffic feed on our blog. There were days where I wondered if only our mothers looked at this thing (which was the purpose of creating it). Since putting the traffic "keeper-tracker" up I am encouraged and also wonder, "who are you?" Who are you in Indiana, Idaho, California, Abilene Texas, New Jersey (and the list can continue)???? Are you people we know or do you just wonder at curiosity on one of our friends blogs? This blog is public so I am not upset by this, but I am curious!:) If you are one of the aforementioned or if you are just wandering by, feel free to leave a note.

Once we get past Cole's first birthday I won't be doing weekly photo shoots of him, but one thing I do want to do is pick back up on my photography love. Maybe we can go to parks during the day and look for interesting shots. Something needs to keep his mind off of teething:)...

Ok, I think some of those east coast hits are from Jonathan's aunts and uncles. Anyway, no responses....now for more pictures!

51 Weeks!

One more week of being creative and trying to take his weekly pictures. It is hard to believe. I have resorted to putting the sheet in his crib so I can contain him.
We had to put socks on him this weekend because of bad ankle burns from his scooting. Now he has to wear socks at all times!
He flips and flops all over even in his crib so it is tough to get a great picture. Here we are playing peek-a-boo.
Not very thrilled with the photo shoot after about 2 minutes. He has bigger and better things to do, after all.

Mr. Non-Chalant

I love Cole's new sitting style with one hand down on the ground for balance. He is just getting to be such a big boy. He still doesn't talk, but he has been making a sound like "Bwa" if he wants something.

50 Weeks!

Grandma's, are your hearts melting? Such a funny smile...
The pictures are a day late, but they were definitely overcast by a much more important trip to Orlando. This marks the 50th week of Cole's life. It is amazing to think that in 2 weeks it will be 52 weeks and the next day he will be 1 year old. It still hasn't set in and probably won't until his birthday party....or maybe after that, even!

Orlando

We went to Orlando this past week and we got home last night. We visited Matt, Holly, and Sadie Brock whom many of you, our readers, knew when they lived in Edmond, Oklahoma. The above picture is just after a "Birthday Party" for Cole in which they were so generous in giving him some pajamas and an Hawaiian shirt that used to belong to Sadie ( who is now 5 1/2) which was really touching (all of you moms who have a hard time getting rid of your children's baby clothes will agree).
Smiley.
Eating the chocolate chip cookies I made to take to the "bog" that night.
The "bog" at their minister's house (he is also Holly's Father's 1st cousin...cool story). Spices boiled with potatoes, sausage, crab, shrimp, corn, mushrooms, clams, and I may be missing something...lemons, etc). It was really good.
Swimming the next morning at the Brock's pool. Holly feeding Cole watermelon. It was his first taste of it and he loved it!
We went to Chic-Fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day where Holly and Sadie made Cole a costume. It was so cute.
Us and the Cow!
Sadie had a real costume from Holly's sister. She was so cute!
We took the contact paper off because he was pulling at it anyway. They made his shirt off of Sadie's VBS shirt. We had to cut the collar off his head:). Cool shades, Cole.
Sadie got the cutest swimsuit! I had to post this because I realized I didn't get many pictures of both kids smiling.
Spiky rockstar hair.
Sadie went to a birthday party the next day and she dressed like a "rockstar" so here is the picture of the two of them before they left. We took a nap while they were gone.
Daddy arrived late on Saturday night. Cole was very happy to see him.

Giving Daddy "Five". He learned how to do it on the way to the Greensboro, NC airport when we left.
Swimming with Daddy.

In Sadie's Hawaiian shirt holding his lovey. He scooted with those all around the Brock's house. It was too cute.
Sadie in the pool. She is quite the water girl. Jumping, splashing, swimming a lot!
Matt throwing Sadie. Look at the air!
Cole wearing the Hawaiian shirt again out on the lanai. It was really nice weather and the pool was pretty warm.
Yum. Eating freeze dried apples.

Swinging on the swings in the park near downtown Mt. Dora. It was a nice sleepy little town.
Waving at perfect strangers who walked up with a little girl while he was swinging. I told him to wave and he did!:)
All smiles once he figured out the proper way to sit in a swing.
Snack time!
Dinner time! He ate a ton! We got sushi (which he didn't eat nor was he offered:) and ate some leftovers from the "bog".
Cole, Holly, Sadie, and Matt outside their house. It was a great visit with great food, fellowship, and friends! It was so nice to see them again. It was kind of surreal because we all knew each other in Oklahoma and none of us live there now, but it was so neat to have the opportunity to get together like that!
