Cole's First Time Fishing and Happy 4th of July!

Friday we got Cole his first rod.  He picked it out and we surprised and delighted he went with one that was "real" and not a character covered rod (i.e. cars or spiderman or the like).
The Reel Cool Reel.
Daddy, I just want these bobbers.
Waiting on the bobbers!
Ah!  Bobbers!
Cool lures!
This morning, July 4th.  We took him fishing in the pond behind our neighborhood.  We originally were going to go on a fishing trip for Fri/Sat, but this ended up working out very well.
Casting.
Bobber is out there!
First fish!!!
Very excited, fish-loving, little boy!
Daddy's got the fish!
Cole loves fish.  This was an awesome experience for him.

Another several casts.

Another fish!
They caught 5 fish on this pink bait.  It worked very well.  Two turtles were also in heavy pursuit!
Baiting the hook!

Yay!  Another fishy!

Feeling the fish's teeth.
Mommy was there...just behind the camera the whole time enjoying watching her boys fish for the first time!

Happy 4th of July from the silliest boy ever!

4th of July and Cole's Birthday Party

Jonathan's Uncle Tom took some pictures and I got some copies of them.  Here is one of them.  We had a little Birthday Party for Cole yesterday on the 4th.
Smiles taken by Uncle Tom.
Another shot taken by Uncle Tom outside.
How often do we get a family picture?  Not perfect, but we'll take it.  We will have to get another family picture before this week is through.
Big grin by Uncle Tom.
Cole has a funny face in this picture.  I like my hair, too!:)
I took all of these but the last one.  Cole and Grandma checking out the American flag on Independence Day.
Sitting on the front porch swing.
Waving the flags!
Go, USA!
Just being too cute.
In the backyard with the flags.
Being presented with his cake.
Waiting for his birthday gifts.
Checking out the card.
He liked this card.
He also loved both the school bus and the bread truck from Granny.  He got a neat book from Grandma about America's Birthday and another about George Washington.  He also got a cool ball, hot wheels towel, clothing, etc.  It was fun!
Checking out Uncle Tom and Aunt Miriam's gift.
The big gift!  The pedal car from Pop-Pop and Grandma (mostly from Pop-Pop who has been excited since early May about this).
Driving...vrrrrmmmmm..
Hugs for Grandma.
Upset that his little bread truck got stuck on the dash of the new pedal car.
Loving the pedal car!
Uncle Tom got a great one of Cole and I.  I love this picture!
