One Month!

I didn't know how they counted a baby's age. He is 1 Month today! I didn't take any professional pictures since I took them at 4 weeks. I guess the next pictures will be at 3 months and I will schedule them at the 29th of October this time:). I tried to make a mold of his foot two days ago...it came out not so good. We are going to make another one soon, though.
About Cole: He is starting to track us with his eyes and watch us much more while we talk to him. He's starting to be more wakeful and quietly alert. The funniest thing he does is after he doesn't sneeze he makes that "ooohhhh" sound. He likes sitting in his bouncy seat and watching us (he lets us know he isn't in the snuggly mood and we put him in there and he just watches us walk around, etc). He likes to be snuggled when he is tired especially. He has started waking up for feedings. I just found him in his room wide awake for his 3pm feeding. He just looked at me as I walked up to his crib and was quite pleasant....this is much better than crying to be fed, but I am sure he will still do that!:)
He has VERY fuzzy eyebrows. He has started grabbing more with his hands and he cuddles and gets all comfortable when he's sitting on your lap (when he's in the mood to cuddle, that is...otherwise he gets very fussy).
He seems to be pretty laid back. I think his smile is coming soon...I can't wait!!!! That's really all we know about him right now. He is a good baby and we are very glad we were blessed with such an easy going first baby:).
We love you, little boy!

Pictures from the Weekend

At Pops on Saturday. Cole is in the sling. Sometimes it is a great thing to carry him in it instead of the carseat...like when he freaked out at Walmart:). Helps him get comfy...he was way overtired.
The pursed lips.
Half smile? It's coming soon!
With Mommy and Daddy.
With Grandma and Grandpa.
In the bouncy seat.
In Mommy's Arms.
Napping with Daddy.
Hanging out on the back porch.
His first professional picture. It isn't this wide...it was my camera angle when I took the picture of the picture.
He's actually angry in the above picture...not liking getting his picture taken, but at least his eyes were open!
Beautiful little boy. He has started doing this thing where if he has to sneeze, but doesn't, he lets out an "ooooooohhhhh". It is adorable.
Peek-a-boo.
Baseball guy. Another family picture.

Four Weeks!!!

More pictures of my parents visit to come tomorrow or Friday. I drop my mom off at the airport tomorrow, so when I get home I may post. These are his 4 week pictures! We also got some done professionally yesterday. Today we are making molds of his hands:). Poor kid! It's hard to believe how deeply he has imbedded himself in my heart in such a short time...also hard to believe we have been caring for him this long already!!!

Gifted???

Last night was Cole's first bottle. He took it well after he figured out it had food in it. Now, most kids it take several months to be able to feed themselves. Cole likes to put his hands up to his face while eating. He can feed himself! Not really, this was just a coincidence that he got both his hands up there like this. We prefer to think he is gifted, though:).

Three Weeks!

He is 3 weeks old today:). He has changed so much. He seems a lot chunkier now to me. He has bigger clothes on in the picture...sorry about the ugly color mix.

Yikes

It's pictures like this that bring me back to reality about me wearing makeup. I need eyeliner and mascara or I think I look pretty scary and tired. It was funny, any time I wasn't wearing at least eyeliner at work everyone told me how tired I look. Now, I have an excuse to look tired, but it is really just the lack of makeup. At least Cole is pretty cute in the picture, though. Also, at least my acne has mostly healed up since having him. If only I could rid myself of this carpal tunnel where I can't feel my thumb and most finger tips on my right hand...in due time I suppose it will go away (I hope).

Grid Iron

We watched a little of the Eagles/Panthers game last night. The Eagles are Cole's Pop-pop's favorite team (Jonathan's Dad). He is still too little to fit in his Eagles outfit:(. We did put a football onesie on him, though. Jonathan doesn't mind the Eagles outfit not fitting, though, since he's a Cowboy's fan! The train outfit picture I took for Jonathan's mom because she got it for Cole. It's been too hot to wear, but it was only 69 when I walked this morning so I put him in it!

Flowin' Prose

Having Your First Child

Having your first child is like a hot summer day
You are uncomfortable and swollen (the end of pregnancy)

Someone comes up behind you and throws a huge gatorade bucket of ice water on you (birth and first week).
Inhale....Hehhhhhhhhh.
It shocks you and you aren't sure if you will breathe any time soon.

Then, you realize your life is much better after the bucket of ice water was thrown on you and you are more comfortable and complete.
You breathe a sigh of relief. Your life isn't over. It has just begun.

Cole is a great baby, so far. He is sleepy most of the time and generally laid back. He usually has to be awoken for feedings and he isn't too cranky even when he is wide awake.
The first week was by far the hardest for me. Hormonal imbalance had a large part to do with it. I feel a lot more comfortable and happy now. I wouldn't trade him for anything...keep the ice water coming.

Too Hot To Swaddle

Cole was awake briefly this afternoon and then we decided to go for a walk in the mid day sun. He dropped off to sleep and I am so hot I don't want to swaddle his legs:). I feel like he must be hot, too. Here is a picture of him and his little ham hocks...we are working on plumping him up. I weighed us and I he still registers around 7.5 lbs. Our scale only goes half pounds, though, so I am not too concerned. I will weigh him again on his 3 week. My guess is he'll be closer to 8 lbs then.

Two Weeks!

Jonathan took the above last night.

Eyebrows raised. This and the pursed lips look are looks thath we know Cole by so far.
I can't believe two weeks ago I was having this little guy! He has really changed to me since then...physically and socially...not so much a stranger anymore. I cannot believe we have been blessed with something so beautiful. I cannot wait to get to know him as he develops. As you can see he is more alert now than before. His eyes are open and he is exploring his new world. Now, I hope, he is napping, but his eyes were open for the pictures and for our entire walk around the neighborhood and then when we got back and he sprinkled just as I was opening his diaper. His eyes were wide for that..luckily nothing got in his eyes. I wiped him off, changed him, calmed him, and laid him down. I am SO proud of him because he cried for about 5-10 minutes and now I think he is out like a light because I haven't heard him. I will check in a few and lay down myself and try to catch some Z's.
Oh...and I had to add...I think he may weigh about 7.5 lbs now and I think he grew a little in length, too, but I can't get him to stretch his foot out for long enough to measure:).
